Creation of the UNIQUE SCIENTIFIC INSTALLATION «RIF» on Russky Island will significantly enhance the effectiveness of implementing programs for the development of the Russian Far East. The scientific directions will be determined by the specific features of the Far Eastern region, including its unique ecosystem, which contains rare species of plants, animals, and marine life, access to the Pacific Ocean, development programs for the Russian Far East and the Far Eastern Federal University, and will be aligned with the development needs of the Far Eastern region of Russia and the Asia-Pacific countries.
The main goal of creating the UNIQUE RESEARCH UNIT "RIF" is to expand the experimental capabilities of the installation in accordance with current tasks being performed worldwide at synchrotron radiation sources, the training of highly qualified scientific personnel, specialists, and technical staff in the field of research using synchrotron radiation and the operation of synchrotron sources.
